Fundraising 2024

The Tattingstone Wheatsheaf raised money for Pancreatic Cancer UK in 2024.
A massive ’thank you’ to everyone who gave so much support to the Alan Gipps Pancreatic Cancer Appeal, our final total was £15,099.42p
Pancreatic Cancer UK have officially recognised our efforts and congratulated us on this fantastic total.
Pancreatic cancer is the toughest of cancer challenges. It’s tough to diagnose, tough to treat, tough to research, and tough to survive.
In the last five years, we have seen more progress than in the previous five decades. In the next five years, Pancreatic Cancer UK is stepping up the pace and driving this progress even further forward, transforming how we diagnose, treat, and care for people with pancreatic cancer – and ultimately save lives.

A number of events were planned and took place. Take a look below:

February - Harriet's Karaoke.
Harriet hosted a fun-packed night of Karaoke madness. With special guest Judges and a chance to show Harriet what you could do, It was a night that will go down in the Wheatsheaf memory as a true one-of-a-kind.
March - Pie Competition.
It’s as it says, make a pie and enter the competition. As National Pie Week comes to an end we celebrated all things Pie!
May - Charity Bike Ride
We blew away the cobwebs with a bike ride, it was the event that brought our Bank Holiday weekend to a close.
June - 1940’s Afternoon Tea Party
We celebrated 80 years since the D-Day landings with a typical 1940’s style afternoon tea. We enjoyed home-made cakes, sandwiches, tea and of course a glass or two of bubbly to accompany it. Tickets were on sale on a first-come first served basis and all proceeds went to the charity.
July - Alan Gipps Memorial Petanque Tournament
The late Alan Gipps was an integral part of the Wheatsheaf Petanque team, so it was fitting that we celebrated his life on the Sunday closest to his birthday with a Petanque tournament. It was a fun tournament open to all ages and abilities with prizes to be won.
July - Beetroot, Beer & Blues Festival
Returning for a fourth year, this mini-festival was definitely a date for diaries. Good Ale, cider and food accompanied by some of the finest blues music all weekend long! The fiercely contested beetroot competition was held and celebrated all things ‘beet’. Camping was also available.
August - Walking Treasure Hunt.
What better way than to enjoy the scenery around this beautiful area than to take part in a Treasure Hunt. It was open to all ages, and families, friends and solo competitors were welcomed.
August - The Wheatsheaf Triples Petanque Tournament.
The Wheatsheaf Triples Tournament is one not to be missed if you are a Boules player. Teams came from far and wide to compete.
August - The Petanque Melee.
Back by popular demand, it was a chance for anyone to join in and play in this crazy mixed-up melee. With prizes galore on offer, everyone was a winner.
NOVEMBER - Quiz Night.
Now firmly established as an annual event on the calendar, the quiz night was back. Ever popular, it was a fun-filled night with food available as well as a raffle on the night.
